My New Obsession - The Denim Vest

Hello Fashion Followers,

Times have been rough in the money department, we know this. So instead of shopping like a maniac, which I usually dream about doing, I have bought one particular article of clothing that I can't get enough of. It is my denim vest! I don't know why, but it goes with practically everything I wear. At this point people are probably thinking, "Is she wearing that vest, again? What a dirt bag." But seriously, it is super cute and comfortable and most of all it gives that extra edginess to each outfit.

Store: Stradivarius 32.00 Euro
I am also thinking about bedazzling the back of it, with jewels and studs. I am not sure what I want to do yet. Maybe a cross, or just outline a specific word. But that is a project for when I go back to NY so I can have my beautiful and creative sisters help me!

How I wore it:

You can't see the bottom of my outfit for March 18th, but I am wearing tight black pants and my combat boots. I try to stay away from wearing denim jeans when I am wearing a denim vest too. That is just a no-no to me. Other people might like it, but I find it hard to match two different denims together and actually make it look good. So if you are looking to buy a denim vest as well, your best bet is to wear it with a different color jean (pink or turquoise jeans are in now) or with classic black leggings!

What do you all think about this look? Any good ideas of what I should do to bedazzle the back? Or should I just leave it plain and simple?

Until next time loveys, ~Happy Shopping xx

My alter ego

Hello Fashion Followers,

Unbelievably I am back. My last semester as a college undergrad has begun, and oddly enough this is the time I prefer to update. When I get back into this habit of using the computer and getting things accomplished on a daily "to-do" list. Nothing too exciting with me on the fashion front but I thought it would be fun to show my costume for the Venetian Carnavalli last weekend. I guess you can say it has to do with fashion, since I ran around looking for my own clothes to match my characters' costume.

The only things that were missing were beige shorts and the backpack. I could have SWORN I had a pair in one of the many suitcases I have around Athens, but unfortuneately, time was running out and I had to ask a girlfriend to borrow her shorts. I think it looked pretty great overall. I had not dressed up for anything really in like, forever.....
So, it was a really fun, and I enjoyed being someone else for the night. Someone who is obviously more bad ass and completely cooler than me. lol

Celebrity Outfit of the Day for Le$$ - Mash Up!

Hello Fashion Followers,
Happy Monday Morning, What a good start to my week so far. A brand-spanking new post! In this post i've mixed up two-in-one. The celebrity style for LE$$ and outfit of the day. It goes like this; I show a celeb outfit, and instead of showing you pieces of clothing where to buy each piece, I'll be wearing the similar outfit already, to show you how you can achieve a similar look!

Keep in mind that I know my outfit doesn't match 100%, but I do that purposely. If there is something that I love about a celeb outfit, I always like to put my own twist into it. And remember: It's not about looking exactly the same, it's about having a similar sophisticated celebrity style. Who says us poor folk can't look like a million bucks!? lol :-)

The one difference I wanted to change was the darker jean. Since I was going to a fancy restaurant that night, I think darker jeans are really classy looking, and very slimming. Since my scarf has darker shades of brown and black, I opted for a black undershirt and tall black boots to play off the scarf. Beyonce's overall outfit can be worn more as day-wear. With a see-through scarf, and simple white tee, and playful brown boots.
I also thought my big hoop earrings made the whole outfit. The gold tone looks great next to the red blazer and picks up on the light brown tones in the scarf as well.

The two important pieces to achieve this look:
1. Red Blazer
+
2. The leopard Scarf

Houndstooth: Gaga Approved

HELLO FASHION FOLLOWERS,

It's quite late, but the usual ol' me loves to wait to the last minute to do things. I think my work comes out best that way. The pressure of time really makes you race the clock and see how far you can push yourself. It's a terrible habit, but I don't see that trait changing anytime soon. Maybe that will be a new year's resolution. ANYway, to the important stuff:  it's an OUTFIT OF THE DAY POST!
Annnnd if i'm feeling really blog happy I might push myself to finish a 'Celeb style for less' post. If not, then you know what to look forward to next update! I already got the celeb outfit picked out and ready to find bargains to match it.

On Friday, I went out to a lovely dinner to my favorite Italian restaurant here in Athens, and I finally wore my new houndstooth trousers with my favorite platform stilettos, yum!

It just so happens that while looking through the latest fashion news today I came across a paparazzi photo of Gaga FULLY decked out in houndstooth print. I got these trousers months ago and I just saw this picture today. Sometimes my fashion intuition really gets the best of me.
Once I saw that I thought, "If Gaga's wearing it, I must be doing something right!"

Not my best pictures this time around, but they will have to do. I got to remember it's about the outfits here, not the looks. I have some more pictures of Friday night with my jacket and hat on....but that deserves a separate post altogether because my hat is something very unique and special to me. I am very excited to have found it! I'll talk all about it in the follow-up post!

Outfit of the day - Innocent Grunge

Hey my fashion followers,
I know I haven't had a post in a while. As usual, schoolwork is catching up to me and I am finding less and less free time to devote to my favorite hobby!

I will say that I have been out and shopping, so I do have some goodie posts on the way! The question is 'when' i am going to be able to update though!

Playing around with my wardrobe, I titled my outfit for the day 'INNOCENT GRUNGE.' The combat boots with sheer black tights always adds that touch of toughness into any look. To set off the harshness from the combat boots I put it with a girly form-fitting flower dress and my favorite 'bow' headband. I threw my black blazer on because it was a little chilly - but it ended up completing my casual/grunge/girly look!

Overall, I am very pleased with the way this turned out! :-)

     A CLOSER LOOK: Headband

1. Dress - Blanco
2. Tights - Sheer (rite aid)
3. Boots - Greek shoe store
4. Blazer - H&M
5. Headband - Charlotte Russe

Outfit of the day

Here's an outfit I put together yesterday:
I think the vest I got in February fits in perfectly with this year's fall fashion trend. I am sorry ahead of time that my backdrop isn't as nice as when I took the wedding pictures.
The lighting is everything and in my apartment it doesn't take good shots. The pictures in front of that white curtain was taken at my boyfriend's house.

Anyway, for some reason I think the pictures I took in my apartment look....weird, I don't know.
Check em' out for yourselves!

Simple in Champagne.

Last night I attended a friend's wedding. And, as promised I have uploaded what I wore last night for this special occasion.

I titled this post, 'Simple in Champagne' because I didn't want to over-do it. I just wanted a simple, sophisticated look. Sometimes, the simpler the outfit, the classier. And that is exactly what I did to achieve this look.

Close-up of embellished shoulder

As you can see the dress has a lovely champagne/beige color and the embellishments are in black and silver. To dress this look up a little more I wore my black strappy platforms, one black ring with faux diamonds, and a silver ankle bracelet.

I didn't feel that any necklace or long earrings were necessary because the embellished shoulder is an accessory in itself. Too much sparkle around the face would look too gaudy.

1. Dress - Forever 21
2. Shoes - Jessica Simpson collection

A shopping trip is in order very soon! I need to start uploading some looks, I'm quite bored with my posts lately. I'm going to try to spice it up a little people!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Today I started my classes for the fall semester. One day closer to graduating in June 2012! YAY
Although I wasn't as excited for school to start as I usually am, I still tried to find a cute outfit to put together. I know that as the year drags on.....so will my style. And the colder it gets the more and more it will be unlikely of me to dress nice for school. At least we have the first day of school. A day of new beginnings, new experiences, and especially new first impressions.

That is why I decided to take some pics of what I wore today! Also, it is because I had a request from one of my blog followers to do so! ;-P So this one is for you!

As a heads up, I don't have a tripod for my camera in order to take far-away, sideways shots....so we have to compromise for now with the weird choppy angels I took the pictures from.

Why this look?
*You can never go wrong with a pair of jean shorts to start off the look

*The red orange shirt with the gold accented shoulders are a really summery color combination

*From there the gold and brown shoes come into play

*Accessories are -the brown belt, to match the little brown in the sandals.
-The gold/turquoise necklace. The red-orange shirt is a bright color as it is, so you can use turquoise accessories to make a noticeable contrast, and the two colors look great next to each other.

I guess that about wraps it up. I better get my beauty rest - 8 AM comes mighty early, it's already 2! Goodnight :-D
Until next time, ~HAPPY SHOPPING~

How I worked it!

I guess I have some explaining to do for not updating in like, forever! I have been super busy the last 2 months with studying and writing school papers, and packing suitcases to come home to NY that I just could not devote the right time to my blog! Soooo, without further a due, I'm back and really excited to talk about something I love a little too much. CLOTHES! YAY

The 'how i worked it' section will just be showing how i took something i loved, and how i fixed it up to make the final fabulous product.

This is my style inspiration. It is a pleated v-neck dress from Forever 21 - $19.80
It's super comfortable and such a beautiful summer color for glowing tan skin!

CLICK MY PICS FOR LARGER IMAGES:
I dressed it up even more with a very simple gold chain with crystals going all around it, along with gold dangle earrings with light creme feathers. Since the necklace was very dainty and light it worked with the big earrings. If a necklace is too bulky with lots of detail avoid dramatic dangle earrings because it can make any outfit look too tacky. (Necklace and Earrings from: Charlotte Russe)

Light beige works beautifully to match the light coral dress. So, I took advantage of my patent leather pumps from chinese laundry and a small beige patent leather handbag from ZARA.

Not shown very well is my gold and crystal ring from QVC - kirks folly...I think.

Hope this update was helpful! Until next time - Happy Shopping!
